I had 6 yr old 880's that I replaced with these 888's. Feels like the same grip and ride as the 880's to me. They run well on my 03 VTX 1800R Spokes. I've stayed with Metzler for a long time now so I can't compare with some of the other brands out with new tires but I haven't had a reason to change. I'm running these on both front and rear. I get good grip, good wear. Don't ride in rain unless I get caught out but the few times I have I didn't have an issue. No complaints with these on a heavy powerful bike.Have not had much time to test it but it so far works goodThese are great tires. My main concern buying tires on Amazon is not knowing when they were made. Some sellers will sell 5-8 year old tires. I bought this in June 2022 and the tire was made in January 2022. So this company is one that sells good stuff.2nd set of these I've had on my Triumph. Just took them on my annual week long ride and very happy with their performance. I changed the last set out due to age not tread wear...great tires for the price and if these hold out like their predecessors, I will be a Metzeler guy for life.Delivered on time and in good condition Date code on tire was less than 1 year old so it was really a new tire, not old stock. I purchased as set for front and rear, this one was for the rear. Put just over 300 miles first trip on them and very pleased with the ride.Loved it.This tire is a MUST HAVE! In March I got a Dunlop D404 that I put on my Vstar 1100 because it was the only one available at the time and I had to get it replaced ASAP. The D404 was a complete waste of money!!!! I worked at a bike shop for 6 years and sold hundreds of the 404s and had been told they were a good tire. I was completely disappointed when it lasted 3 months and 4500 miles on the rear tire. It grabbed lines in the road, I could feel it slipping through turns and curves and it didn’t have the best ride. After such a disappointment with that tire, I did a lot of research before replacing it. I debated between a dual compound or the ME888. After talking with quite a few people I decided on the Metzler. So far I have 1000 miles on it and I am in love!! It has amazing grab, durability and ride. I haven’t noticed any wear in it after 1000 miles, it doesn’t grab all the lines in the road, I can lean in a lot more on curves and it’s a smooth ride!!!
