Tire is great. Stock tire was inflatable and only lasted about a month on my sons’s scooter. I will do with tires for bicycles, cars, and motorcycles so I’m pretty good with things like this, but this was a pretty difficult challenge. I watched a lot of YouTube to figure out how to get it on. Ended up putting it in a frying pan with vegetable oil to heat it up enough. It’s a Gotrax g5. The rear wheel separates in half so I was trying to put it on half the wheel then bolt the whole wheel together. I learned that doesn’t work. Have to put the wheel together then get the tire hot enough so that it can stretch over the whole wheel and pop into place. It’s not easy, but it can be done.-Put a couple 2x4 wood pieces down on concrete or something solid you don’t mind getting vegetable oil spilled on. Cover that with a towel. You’ll put the wheel down on the towel covered 2x4s so the brake and/or motor isn’t on the ground bending while you press on it.-I learned it’s better not to wear gloves for this process. The oil stays hot a lot longer than water and it’ll burn you before you can get the gloves off so use another towel.-Heat the tire up in a frying pan in about an inch of vegetable oil. BE CAREFUL! It is hot and will burn you. A lot. Very painfully.-After a few minutes flip it over. It has to get really hot.-Take the whole pan with tire and oil outside to your wheel on the towel.-Carefully use tongs to remove the tire from the scalding hot, dangerous oil and roll it around on the towel to spill out any oil in the grooves of the tire. Then you should be able to use another towel to pick up the tire and start to wrestle it onto the wheel.Start by pressing the tire on one side of the wheel and put your knee on that part of the tire. Start pushing with your hands around the tire and slowly working all the way around the wheel until it pops into place. It took me a few tries until I finally got it on.There was about 15 minutes I wasn’t sure it was possible. Kept checking to make sure I got the tire size correct. Had to put it back in the stove once or twice to reheat it.After I finally got it on I did have to loosen the bolts holding the 2 halves of the wheel together so that the tire could seat properly in the hub. Then tighten them back down, put the wheel on, and it’s better than new.Hoping to get at least a year out of this tire so it’s definitely worth the hassle.
